SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II, 309-379. Obol (Silver, 13 mm, 0.65 g, 3 h), mint IX (“Kabul”). Draped bust of Shapur II to right, wearing mural crown with korymbos; symbol to right. Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, bust in flames, flanked by two attendants; traces of ‘lʾst’, i.e. ‘rāst’ (‘true’ in Pahlavi) on altar shaft. Göbl type Ia/6a. Cf. SNS III/2, type Ib1/3a. Very rare. Somewhat rough and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
